When you Svadhisthana chakra is balanced, you are more receptive of the world around you. You’ll find yourself being a kind, compassionate person, and your intuition will be heightened. This chakra awakens your passion for life. Those with a balanced sacral chakra are usually warm and genuinely friendly.

The energy of this chakra can be realized with creative expression and taking the time to love your body. Enjoy the feeling of the grass underneath your feet and the wind across your face. Give in to sensual energy and desires and allow yourself to enjoy pleasure. Embrace your inner child and play! This chakra revels in self-expression and sensuality – while we make love, love others, and allow our emotions to run freely.

Imbalances in this chakra can manifest itself in an inability to connect or express our feelings freely. We live in a society that teaches us to suppress our emotions and devalues sexual energy, and thus, problems with this chakra are commonplace.

When the Svadhisthana is imbalanced, it can lead to low libido and a lack of creativity. One might become clingy or overattached in relationships as a consequence of this chakra being blocked. Infertility and problems in reproductive health can also result from an imbalanced sacral chakra.*
